Who Should Attend?

If you're using sedation in the practice, your entire sedation team must be ILS trained as per IACSD standards for Conscious Sedation in the Provision of Dental Care 2015 guidelines.

The course is specifically designed for the dental team including dentists, dental clinicians & dental nurses that from part of your sedation team.
Duration of the Course

The course provides 4 hours CPD. This includes 2 hours pre-course online training followed by a 2 hour practical training session in practice.
Course Content
- Causes & prevention of cardiorespiratory arrest during sedation.
- ABCDE approach
- Basic Life Support & Automated External Defibrillation (including paediatric modifications).
- Management of common medical & sedation emergencies in the dental practice
- Adult & paediatric airway management using Bag Valve Mask, oropharyngeal & nasopharyngeal airways & I-gels
- Roles & responsibilities of the dental team in an emergency.
- Practical, scenario-based training
Qualification

Course includes Lubas Medical CPD verifiable certification in ILS in Dentistry.

Our courses meet the latest Resuscitation Council UK guidelines.

ILS for Dentistry meets the requirements of the IACSD (Intercollegiate Advisory Committee for Sedation in Dentistry) standards for sedation.

Our Courses meet the criteria for the GDC’s development outcomes A and C.
