Our First Aid in the Practice training has been created and developed to combine with your annual CPR training. This ensures an overall program of core Continuing Professional Development (CPD) designed just for your practice.

All Lubas trainers are Advanced First Aid Instructors and Medical Professionals. We combine real-life experience with interactive, practical training delivered in the friendly and relaxed manner our customers have come to love and expect.

Our combined CPD and First Aid Training sessions ensure you can provide the best possible treatment and care for your patients and colleagues.

As part of the service, we also help you review your medical equipment and provide valuable advice and support, ensuring you are fully prepared to manage a medical emergency both in and out of the dental surgery.

  • Who Should Attend?

    As our First Aid courses are designed to combine with your annual CPR training, we recommend all practice staff attend. This ensures a first aider is always at hand and covers holidays, absences and sickness. If you wish to train less staff you should carry out a risk assessment to determine how many first aiders are required in your practice. You must have adequate first aid provisions in the practice at all times.

  • Duration of the Course

    Due to the annual 3 hours of CPR training your staff receive, First Aid in the Practice is delivered in 4 hours.

  • Course Content

    • Current Health and safety (first aid) regulations
    • Managing an incident
    • Understanding the priorities of first aid
    • Management of an unconscious casualty
    • Signs, Symptoms & management of shock
    • Signs, symptoms & management of choking
    • Management of wounds & bleeding
    • Signs, symptoms and management of fractures
    • Signs, symptoms and management of burns
    • Managing common workplace injuries.

  • Qualification

    You will receive individual staff certificates in First Aid in the Practice, plus a practice certificate indicating your staff are undergoing continual professional development. All staff will receive 4 hours of CPD.
